        KEY SELLING POINTS

A raw, dark poetry collection. Poems about the melancholy of life and the pursuit of love no matter how
          unobtainable it might be.
Poetry inspired by music, and wishing to emulate the magic that music will always bring about.
Written through a love of Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones & Arctic Monkeys.

Royal Blue is like a sad song we all intentionally put on when we feel bad in order to feel even worse. It’s a
love letter to melancholy in all areas of life. Particularly love, because love is the one and only form of self-
torment that humans choose to relive again and again.

But people enjoy reading those melancholic poems about a tempting self-destructive love, a rudderless road
trip through life, and a distinct sense of absolute confusion about one’s purpose in this universe.
Read them just the way they were written - at 3 am, sitting on the floor next to an empty liquor glass and a full
ashtray, questioning life choices and possibly listening to the cheesiest of love songs. This is poetry
reminiscing about a love that has never been, places that no longer exist and a version of us that is long gone.

Ellie Ilieva was born and raised in Bulgaria but has been living abroad for over a decade, studying and working
in different countries across Europe. She has been writing and rhyming ever since she learned the alphabet, and
so decided it was time to reveal this talent to a perhaps unfeeling world. She currently lives in the Netherlands,
but is on the lookout for new adventures in search for inspiration.
