• The US should finish on $10M which is down from $14M in 2023.
• The reduction in business was expected due to the loss of Resideo’s ADT
business to Google. This loss was somewhat buoyed by an extension to their
contract at the end of 2024 which has led to a big push in volumes heading to
the USA. Manufacturing cells have been at full capacity for several months
and an additional cell introduced in December has helped to spread the
capacity amongst other customers.
• The outlook for 2025 is very promising with the
introduction of JCI (Johnson Controls) as our biggest
customer for the US market. JCI international HQ
is in Cork and Ei will be replacing Apollo as the main
supplier of domestic Fire and CO alarms in residential security offerings.
JCI has annual revenue of $26Billion and the total volumes will equate to
over 1 million devices per year, eventually delivering over$25 Million in
additional revenue. There are several new products in the pipeline already,
due for release in early 2025 to complement the products already released for
the UAE.
• The Irish construction industry was strong in
2024, however, the number of residential housing
completions was down on 2023 up to the end of
Q3 this year. In 2023 32,548 new homes were
delivered. There are still estimates that the final
number for 2024 will be above this number. Most
Economists agree that there needs to be more
than 52,000 houses built per year over the next 25
years to cope with the increasing population.
• The construction industry faces the challenge
now of ensuring there is enough labour and
capital in the market to try and deliver these
ambitious targets. We are lucky that we are the
dominant brand in the Irish market, with very
little competition at all. It is safe to say that we
have the largest total market share in Ireland
when compared to any other market within
the group. This bodes well for the future as the
legislation is strong, however, we cannot afford
to be complacent as the threat of a new market
entrant is always around the corner.
• The Ei146e is the dominant product again making
up 40% of total turnover. The Ei3016 is 8.5% so
the focus for 2025 and beyond has to be moving
customers up to the Ei3000 series.
• The Ei Ireland Sales team
have been very active this
year with CPD Expert Installer
training, industry events and
conferences.
• 2025 should prove to be a record year again
as more investment flows into the construction
sector and new products are available like the
HomeLINK connected series of products.
Review 2024
• 2024 is shaping up to be a record year for
France as our work over the last few years in
convincing landlords to replace their smoke
alarms after 10 years pays off. France is Ei’s
3rd largest market in 2024!
• Renewal of alarms after 10 years is not a clear
obligation for landlords in France – so much
of our work involves showing landlords that
replacing their alarms at end of life makes
sense as it protects their tenants and protects the
landlords from potential liability. The quality and
reliability of Ei products has been recognized
by many landlords who are specifying Ei when
issuing tenders.
• Our business with Resideo, which was forecast to
decline, has also grown strongly in 2024.
• We participated in the Housing Association
annual congress and exhibition in Montpellier
showing our product range to key landlords and
service providers.
• We have also begun a 1-year sponsorship of a
basketball and handball team, JDA, in cooperation
with one of our key service providers, Iserba.
• Julien Grazioso joined the sales team as regional
manager for south-east France.
Outlook 2025
• As landlords continue to
replace their alarms, we are
expecting another strong year
in 2025. Our Resideo business, however, is set
to reduce as their key customer transitions to
another supplier.
