• The Indian and Algerian navies on August 30, 2021, participated in a maiden naval exercise off the Algerian coast
in a bid to increase interaction and maritime cooperation between the two navies.
• India, Kazakhstan joint military exercise KAZIND-21 began on September 2, 2021, at Training Node Aisha Bibi,
Kazakhstan.
• A 200-personnel contingent will represent the Indian Army in Exercise ZAPAD 2021 in Nizhniy, Russia, on
September 3, 2021.

• A SpaceX shipment of avocados, ants, and a human-sized robotic arm was rocketed
towards the International Space Station on August 29, 2021.

• National Sports Day : National Sports Day is celebrated every year in India on 29
August. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian
hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. First National Sports Days was celebrated in
India in 2012.
