Network Operating Support
o Evaluate opportunity for signature fundraising event. Consider structure where members share revenue from annual signature fundraising event in exchange for volunteer support, ticket selling, etc.
o Secure Network resources through Leadership Team endorsements which includes sponsorship pledges of money, in-kind and volunteer support
o Identify ‘gap’ funding needed and identify funding partners from leadership team. (e.g. Communications campaign will need funding which is not in current network operating budget)
o Secure operating support for first three years from local/current funder collaborative commitments
o Evaluate feasibility of conducting endowment campaign
o Evaluate merit of instituting membership dues from literacy provider organizations o Seek public awareness fundraising ideas and consider making it a focus for one week
each year
Join with Communications Action Team to develop ideas
Seek funding opportunities that do not add the community’s ‘special event’
calendar – community saturation
