Missions Month May 2020 - Cancelled

The Missions Committee recently received the letter

below as a FHPC leadership response to the Covid-19

epidemic.

The annual May events usually comprise a Saturday

night dinner (with speakers), plus guest missions speakers

for two Sundays morning services in May.

Attn – Missions Committee / Re – Missions Dinner

Dear Denis and team,

With regret the members of Session and BOM who were

present at our impromptu meeting on Friday evening made

the decision to cancel the Missions dinner for May 2nd 2020.

Others from those two groups also expressed the same view

via email. We felt there was no option other than that

particularly that all large church gatherings will be on hold

until further notice after this weekend. The Sunday mission

speakers are also in serious doubt pending further advice

from government or PCANZ.

We wish to thank you and the committee for the work

already done to set up this annual event, and trust that at

some time in the not-too-distant future we will be able to

celebrate missions once again.
