        Benches for the Recreation Ground
We want to put some seats on the Recreation Ground and invite residents and groups to purchase a
seat – either as a donation, or to commemorate a group or a loved one. Newington Parish Council has
selected a standard bench: ‘Glasdon Phoenix Seat with armrests’ You can
        see the details at https://uk.glasdon.com/phoenix-tm-seat-with-armrests
These are tried and tested around Swale and other parts of the country.
A guide price is £532.33 for the seat and £470 for installation on a concrete
base. It is possible we may be able to negotiate a reduction if we are
placing several orders at the same time. If a commemorative plaque is
required the cost is £83.60, ordered with the bench. The Parish Council stipulates no flowers or other
tributes. Orders must be through the Parish Council as the bench would be on Parish Council land
and we then assume responsibility for ownership, insurance and maintenance, subject to terms and
conditions. You can discuss orders or details with Wendy Licence the Clerk at Clerk.NPC@gmail.com
