Audioscript
A Wellington is the capital of New
Zealand, right, not Auckland?
B Yes, that’s right.
A Why do they call it a cool little
capital?
B Because it is. It’s a great city,
especially for young people. It’s
small but by 2040 the population
will be about half a million. That’s
the prediction.
A Is it a green city?
B Well, yes and no. We create less
waste and recycle more than
other cities, but we still use too
much water; but that’ll change.
A What do you mean? What do you
think will change?
B Well, in future we will not use so
much water and the water will be
clean.
A Are there places for you to go
with your friends?
B Well, there will be more parks but
there will also be more cafes and
bars in the city centre where now
there are dirty old streets. B Wellington is very popular with tourists. Exercise 7
