Forty years since its inception, the University has undoubtedly metamorphosed into
a highly credible Higher Education Institution (HEI). Its enrollment is remarkably and con-
sistently increasing, though its momentum was interrupted by the implementation of the
K-to-12 Program. It is, likewise, continuously producing national topnotchers in licensure
examinations.
The Isabela State University has been named as one among the 21 leading SUCs in
the Philippines. It is similarly recognized as one of the few level-IV SUCs in the country.
Now, it focuses on attaining loftier position with respect to SUC Levelling.
It is highly notable that the Isabela State University has recently assumed lead roles
in Research not only in the country, but also in Asia. It is currently serving as the host or
base agency of two regional research centers, namely, the Higher Education Regional Re-
search Center (HERRC) under the Commission on Higher Education; and the Cagayan Valley
Agricultural Resources Research and Development (CVARRD) under PCARRD-DOST. Being
chosen as the base agency is a recognition of the University being well-known as among the
HEIs in the Region in terms of its capability in research management and scientific under-
takings. At present, the university is a home of 17 Research and Development Centers and
Laboratories, a concrete testament of its formidable and impressive Research and Develop-
ment capabilities.
Together with its instructional leadership, preeminent roles in research, intensified
community engagement, aggressive thrusts in resource generation and focus on interna-
tionalization, the University is determined in realizing its vision, mission, and goals. Nowa-
days, ISU stands as an indispensable and reliable partner for agro-industrial developments
in the Region in particular and in the country in general, ably supported by all of its dedicat-
ed and committed stakeholders. The Isabela State University is, undoubtedly, soaring into
greater heights.
