Tutāmure and his warriors surrounded and attacked the village for many days. Their plan
was to force Kahungunu out by lighting scrub fires as soon as the wind blew in the right
direction. Meanwhile Tauheikurī sat quietly within the village while disaster loomed at her
very doorstep. Who are these warriors? What can I do to help? she wondered.
