Before any fighting could occur Kahungunu went to
the defences and called out “Who are you to come and
fight us? It is I, Kahungunu, who lives here!”
Tutāmure replied, “It is I, it is I, Tutāmure!”
Kahungunu immediately realised it was his relative
Tutāmure and so the battle was over. Tutāmure had no
issues with his own kin.
