Classroom Allotment 2020 - 2021
Please read through the Classroom Allotment guidelines before filling out and
returning your completed, reimbursement request.
Goal of Classroom Allotment:
Provide monetary, classroom allotment for teachers’ use towards their classroom expenditures.
Accurate Reporting:
As a PTSA, we report to our membership how our funds are used and what is purchased to support
our school and students. Having a detailed account of purchases, and our teachers’ needs allows us
to more accurately report to our PTSA members how the classroom allotment budget is utilized and
helps us advocate for school / student needs.
Classroom Allotment value:
Allotments are based on your FTE. 1.0 = $100, 0.8 = $80, 0.6 = $60, 0.4 = $40, 0.2 = $20.
Guiding Practices:
KMS PTSA Classroom Allotments are intended to cover items the school may not otherwise offer,
and that enrich the KMS student experience. The teacher may use their allotment as they see fit, as
long as it serves their classroom and students’ needs. That being said, there are some guidelines to
be aware of.
Incentives are welcome as long as they are NOT FOOD BASED. It is the opinion of the PTSA that in
advocating for every child at KMS FOOD BASED INCENTIVES will always pose fairness and equity
concerns for children with allergies, medical, religious or cultural sensitivities. Please consider this
when planning for your reimbursements this year. The PTSA will not reimburse for any pizza parties,
donuts, candies, etc. Food purchased for a lesson plan, for example the science dept purchasing
food for experiments, is still considered ok.
All classroom related items reimbursed by the PTSA belong to the classroom and Kenmore Middle
School and are not personal property.
Classroom Allotment Reimbursement Process:
Complete the Classroom Allotment Reimbursement Form, located on the KMS PTSA website as
well as in the KMS PTSA Box. Email the completed form and copies of all receipts to
