The declaration of war on the imps may be presented with a question addressed to the child: "Who
do you want your behavior to be controlled by? You or your imp?" I recommend reinforcing this
declaration by preparing an "imp warrior" badge or crown to be worn by the child.
However, it is important to remember that dealing with imps does not necessarily have to be
belligerent; sometimes it is much more effective to make friends with them or tame them. That is
why the first stage of the process may be called "Embarking on a search for magical powers."
