... Dr. sc. tim BUrKinK
Professor of marketing and Former Dean

                  University of nebraska at Kearney
          REKLI SU I

had the great privilege of working with Bruno as part of a team of researchers
exploring the recovery of critical farm to fork food marketing systems in post-war
economies. Bruno brought his burning curiosity, academic rigor, and expansive
networks to this complex project that spanned several years, with field work and data
collection across multiple countries. Without his contributions this project, which
resulted in numerous important academic works, would not have been possible.
On a personal level, working with Bruno helped this new scholar learn how to turn
curiosity about a problem into a well-designed and executed project conducted by
a team of scholars and practitioners. I recall his tireless work ethic and “can-do”
                  attitude with great admiration.

Bruno’s achievements as a researcher, author, and editor comprise an impressive
body of work. Our project is a small part of his expansive portfolio, which includes
26 books and approximately 200 professional and academic papers. His work has
focused on micro and macro trends in the marketing landscape, the interplay between
economic transition processes, ecology, and marketing strategies, and the analysis
of company market orientation and the transformation of marketing management
practices. Beyond these contributions, Bruno’s has impacted thousands of students,
directly through his teaching, and indirectly through his vast international network
of collaborators. Lessons I learned working with Bruno throughout Croatia and
the broader region continue to inform my teaching and research to this day. I am
honored to count Dr. Grbac as colleague and friend.
