The block screening project intends
to help fund CSR efforts for the
site’s beneficiary school, La Huerta
National High School (LHNHS) -
which involves building a smart
classroom, and also the holding of
a summer reading camp earlier.
The 400-peso movie tickets were
a steal, with employees even being
afforded the option of paying
through salary deduction. The three-
hour, action-packed film raised a
total of Php38,990 for LHNHS.
Three hours is long by modern
film making standards but spending
that length of time was well worth it,
not only because of the fun and
enjoyment it brought to the Marvel
fans among SPi Global employees,
but more for the long-term benefits
that may be gained by the students
of LHNHS from the literacy camp and
the smart classroom projects.
