The year-end holiday party is one of the much
awaited events at SPi Global. The company is
well- known for always ending the year with a
bang – and 2018 was no exception.
Held on December 8 at the PICC Forum Tent, this
year’s Holiday Party theme was “Ibiza Night”. The
impressive 4,000-seater venue was packed and
well-attended by employees from SPi Global’s
Luzon sites.
Sporting for the Ibiza vibe
Employees revelled in the spirit of the Ibiza style:
effortless, diverse, and fun! Three looks dominated
the night: Sparkle, Flower Power, and Chilled Soul.
Employees from the Parañaque site came in glitzy
style and floral flare, while Laguna folks arrived in
laid-back, bohemian fashion.
After a sumptuous sit-down dinner
the program began with an explosive dance
performance by G-Force, along with AVPs and
Senior Managers, and other employees from the
Parañaque and Laguna sites. This was followed
by the opening remarks given by President & CEO
Ratan Datta, who thanked employees for their
contributions to the company in 2018. As well,
he recognized clients who’ve greatly valued SPi
as vendor-partner.
Big wins for Laguna site
This year proved to be memorable for SPi Global
Laguna, after the team took home major awards
and prizes. Celeste Geli was among the recipients
of the 24/7 Values Hero award, which recognizes
employees who exemplify SPi Global’s values of
integrity, accountability, malasakit (compassion),
meritocracy, and respect. She was given a tribute
for constantly demonstrating accountability
and malasakit.
Laguna’s dance group, Chilled Soul, also emerged as
the champion of this year’s dance competition for
their electrifying reggae performance.
They bested two other groups: the CIS/CS +
Operations Support Group and the Journals +
Business Support Group, both from the Parañaque
site. Chilled Soul also won the People’s Choice
Award after garnering the most number of likes on
SPi Global’s Facebook page.
As well, the Laguna site bagged the most number
of major raffle prizes. Aimee Caluag, a system
administrator, won the grand prize: the Excite
Package, which includes a 43-inch TV, sound system,
Nintendo Switch, and Xtreme Magic Sing. Other
major raffle prizes won by Laguna employees are
an e-bike with safety gear and a premium family
staycation package.
It was, indeed, a great night of excellent fare,
cool music, amazing prizes, and heartwarming
company – and for SPi Global Laguna, it’s
the best year yet!
