3. Connecting Happiness ... Environment
A collaborative effort to protect the environment, linking Thai people and partner agencies in environmental conservation. This initiative provides a collection point for various materials, which are then processed and managed in a proper and beneficial manner. It takes account of packages and materials related to THP’s postal services and other waste categories prioritized in Thailand under the “Green Hub” project. Customers, the public, and partner agencies are invited to drop off unused items, such as cardboard boxes, paper envelopes, plastic mailing envelopes, bubble wrap (stretch plastic), drinking water bottles (PET plastic), electronic waste, and aluminum, at post offices nationwide free of charge. These materials will be then transferred to appropriate processes through upcycling and recycling, transforming waste into useful products for a sustainable society and environment. Key statistics on discarded items and participation in the projects are as follows :
• “reBOX” Campaign : Collecting 101,049 kilograms of boxes and envelopes, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 573,306.15 tons CO2 equivalent
• “reBAG” Campaign : Collecting 230.8 kilograms of stretch plastic, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 61.43 tons CO2 equivalent.
• “Turn Suk” Campaign : Collecting 247 kilograms of drinking water bottles (PET plastic), reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 0.44 tons CO2 equivalent
• “E-Waste” Campaign : Collecting 1,881 kilograms of electronic waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 8,465.04 tons CO2 equivalent.
• “Aluminum Donation for Production of Royal Prosthetic Limbs” Project : Collecting 6,731.2 kilograms of aluminum, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 61.43 tons CO2 equivalent.
