Inside the bathroom at a party

I sit here and listen
to all the chatter and noise

it makes me miss

all the missed family birthdays

all the missed memorable times

due to some silly argument
“Family always sticks together”

they stick together until you

you break it all up

you tell us the fun stories of

your childhood
the ones of you playing hide and

seek

but all that had to end

because of your temperament

I wish it could go back
to the ways it was when I was a

kid

no grudges

no fighting

just family
just fun

the flood of memories from

inside the bathroom at a party.
