The lesson is about Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who lived and died during the Holocaust.
Holocaust stemmed from prejudice and hatred. Anne was gifted a diary on her 13 birthday

in which she wrote about her feelings and problems (characteristic of adolescents) and a vivid
description of the horrors of war. The students penned poems on equality/humanity to bring
out the fact that we all are the same. The power of poetry was leveraged for students to realize
that they are the prime agents of change and the onus of building an egalitarian society is on
them.
