In the activity, students took a slice of cheese,
marked equal number of rows and columns, and
cut the cheese along those rows and columns.
Objective of this activity was to make them
understand that a square number is the product of
a number with itself, and square root can be
obtained by analyzing the number being
multiplied twice.
Later on a lighter note, children made patterns of
the cheese cuttings on a slice of bread and happily
shared their creativity.
