Marine Park Lions Club Roars into Service
This new club is grateful for the opportunity to serve the needs of the community. Outreach projects have supported Hunger, Vision,
Diabetes, Childhood Cancer and the Environment We have also contributed to the development of youth and disaster recovery
efforts.
• In remembrance of the 9/11disaster, the gardens at Marine Park were cleaned, weeded.
• Discarded water bottles were collected for recycling.
To foster international bonding, three (3) barrels of food, toiletries and clothing, valued at
• $1,500.00 were shipped to Jamaica, West Indies, to be distributed to the needy.
• $1,500 was donated to Childhood Cancer
• Eyeglasses were sent to Eyeglass Recycling Center.
• East Flatbush Early Childhood Education Center for autistic children, received educational supplies.
* $100 gifted to parent for school supplies.
* $1,000 toward a Scholarship Fund or Local Union 372.
* $100 support to the Brandel Murphy Youth Foundation.
* $300 to sustain relief after earthquake in Haiti.
* $700 to assist residents of St. Vincent after the earthquake.
Other Humanitarian Efforts:
~ Sanitary and hygiene products to assist families in temporary
housing.
~ A bereaved family for funeral expenses.
~ PPE shipped to Grenada and Cariacou.
