PROSPECT HEIGHTS LION

Lion Christine Kirton volunteered at the Jacob Javits Center Expo for the TCS
NYC Marathon 2021. This year the marathon celebrates 50 years of healthy
lifestyle through running.
Lion Christine has volunteered in several positions. But this year, she was
distributing T-shirts to the runners since Thursday, November 4 through
Saturday November 6, 2021. Several Lions, including Region Chair Levi
Jeffers (Brooklyn Alpha) also team with the NY Road Runners to serve at the
Expo.

The marathon is scheduled for the first Sunday in November each year. After
a year off due to the Covid -19 virus, the runners are ready to get back to the
thrill pf running through the 26.2 miles across the five boroughs of New York
City. They are all excited and ready to go!

This year, due to “lockdowns” of several countries across the world, many of
the favorite international contestants will be absent. In addition, the Expo is

closed to the general public but open only to the runners and their families.
