Fellow Lions and Leos,
I hope that you and your family enjoyed an amazing summer!
First, I would like to thank District Governor Anthony Cochran for appointing me as the Global Membership Team Coordinator
for District 20-K1, Fiscal year 2021-2022.
The Global Membership Team consists of very experienced and effective leaders who will team to ensure that the needs of all
clubs are met. We are committed to Membership Growth and Retention which will guarantee that our District remains strong,
stable and focused on Membership Satisfaction.
GMT will support Membership Development at the club level by training Membership Chairpersons to create effective ways to
recruit new members and promote positive experiences. At the District level, GMT will organize clubs in underserved areas in
Brooklyn and Queens.
• Each club President must appoint a three-person membership committee.
The membership Chairperson is elected by the club and serves on the Board of Directors for one year.
The Membership Committee consists of:
1. Chairperson
2. Co-Chairperson
3. Member
4. Advisor—LCI suggests last year’s Membership Chairperson should serve as an advisor to this
year’s Membership Chairperson.
The focus of the club Membership Chairperson and Committee is to set Goals and an Action Plan for Membership Growth for
this fiscal year. Do plan to have two Membership Growth events for the year. By bringing new members into your club, not
only will you develop new friendships, but you will ensure that your club will have a stronger foundation to serve your
community and also ensure a very successful year of growth.
The Global Membership Team welcomes all new members, and we thank all sponsors for growing and strengthening their
clubs.
Let us also welcome our newest club, Queens United Lions Club which was chartered on July 28, 2021 in Corona, Queens.
Thanks to Lion Mildred Ramirez for answering the call to organize clubs in underserved areas.
