My Fellow Lions and Leos,
Thank you for growing our district and completing all those
fantastic and viable community service projects. As a district,
we want to share the achievements of our clubs with the
community of Lions across the globe. We want new
members. We want the leadership in our clubs to engage
with effective club operations. These are the essentials for
membership sustainability and the enhancement of Lionism in
our district.
Sharing our stories on social media will excite current
members and attract like-minded volunteers to join us as
“We Serve” from the heart with passion. I strongly
encourage you to publicize those meaningful acts of
humanitarian service that touch the lives of others.
Participation in the Global Membership Approach (GMA) at
the club level will rejuvenate your club and increase
members’ satisfaction. We need a vision for our district which
will help us to breathe new life into healthy clubs and
implement a plan for success. Opportunities to upgrade
membership satisfaction and skills while advocating for
innovative community service projects are matchless
motivators for high membership retention.
Engaging and attracting new members is critical, regardless of
their age. We have added new clubs and new members
during this year. Let us keep them inspired and excited
about service. As you plan your nomination slate for the
upcoming Lionistic year, I suggest that you propose
leadership options for newer, qualified members. When
members feel appreciated and engaged, retention becomes
less challenging.
Henry Ford reminded us that “Coming together is a
beginning, keeping together is progress but working
together is success” .
Let us continue to team together with “Growth through
Service” and achieve the goals of our district.

My dear Lions family,
As we approach the Spring season and the last quarter of
this Lionistic year, we can anticipate the successes of our
hard work.
First, let us give thanks to our Divine Creator for keeping us
alive and still in good health as we experience what seems
like a slowdown of the devastating COVID 19 pandemic.
Our district enjoys the blessings of new clubs and many new
Lions who have joined our family, thanks to your hard work
and the support of the leaders in our GAT. We warmly
welcome every new inductee. We pledge to inspire you to
grow as life-long learners in Lionism and eventually become
Lion leaders who will enhance our organization and reach
more people with your acts of service.
Congratulations and much thanks to the chairpersons and
committee members who organized and implemented a
wonderful virtual Mid-Winter Convention. They surely made
our District shine in the Multiple and beyond. We must
extend the same gratitude and kudos to the Leo
Chairpersons and the knowledgeable Leos for their
absorbing program and electrifying debate.
The sudden passing of PDG Narcisuss and PDG Charlie. two
well-loved, “mighty oaks” of Lionism, shocked the core of our
district and multiple. We will remain inspired by their service
to humanity. May they rest in heavenly peace as we continue
the work of “being our brother’s keeper.” I urge you to reach
out and keep their families in your prayers.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the State Convention
in Niagara Falls. It is critical that we show up in large
numbers to support and vote for our candidate. Remember
to take care of your club’s financial responsibilities before
May 1 to insure your club’s ability to participate in the
election process.
I will close with the words of Henry Ford. “Coming together is a
beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is
success.”
