WHEREBY: THE Board of Directors and Membership of the South Ozone Park/Empire City Medical Lions Club (hereinafter SOP/E.C.M.
Lions Club at a meeting held on June 23,2019, with a quorum present unanimously voted to endorse LION ISMAEL HOLIPAS,
JR.,M.D.,DABA,MIJ as a candidate for the office of Second Vice District Governor for District 20K1 for the Lionistic Year 2022-2023.
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR is a member in good standing in his Lions’ Club. Through his service, he has demonstrated
an extensive knowledge of the International Association of Lions Clubs, performed with quality commitment and dedication to the noble
causes of Lionism, on behalf of his Club (S.O.P./ E.C.M. Lions Club), District 20K-1, MD- Lions of New York and Bermuda, Inc.
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has served with great distinction and honor Is presently a member of the Board of Directors of
the S.O.P./E.C.M.: one (1) year as Vice President of the S.O.P./E.C.M.Lions Club, two (2) years as club secretary, six (6) years as S.O.P./
E.C.M. Lions Club President, one(1) year as Region Chairman, two (2) years as Zone Chairman, sixteen (16) years Coordinator of the 20-K1
District Wide Multiphasic Health Awareness Wellness Screening Health Fair; and three (3) years as Health Fair Chairman off the
S.O.P/E.C.M
Medical Lions Club, one (1) year District Scholarship Committee, two(2) years club scholarship and award campaign manager for District
Governor E. Gary Villanueva, Chair, District Testimonials for District Governor E. Gary Villanueva (2001-2002)
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has attended numerous District 20K-1 conventions and testimonials of Past District
Governors, PDG Gary Villanueva (2001-2002),PDG Pauline Francis (2010-2011), PDG George Allen (2014-2015), PDG Charles McBride
(2017-18), PDG Audrey P. Doorn (2018-19)
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has been very involved with the medical needs of numerous with the medical needs of
numerous underprivileged minority communities in the city, he fully cooperates with the spiritual needs of his church. He has an
outstanding history endowed towards the service of others
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. He
completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at Brookdale Medical Center (Brooklyn, New York) and Anesthesia Fellowship at
Maimonides Medical Center (Brooklyn, New York), He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, and practiced
Anesthesiology for 40 years at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, New York
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has been a charter member of S.O.P./E.C.M. Lions Club. He has participated in fifteen (15)
New York Multiple District 20 Conventions, ten (10) International Conventions, one (1) U.S.,A./Canada Forums, one (1) International
Convention in Milan, Italy (2019) two (2) Club Leadership Seminars, twenty five (25) Club Health Awareness and Wellness Fair, two (2)
club outreach programs at the Mount Loreto of Catholic Charities in Staten Island c/o Sister Priscilla of the Society of Mary, in Youth
Career Development Programs held at the School of Deaf and Blind with PDG Alvin E. Brereton as one of the advisers
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has been the recipient of the MELVIN JONES FELLLOW AWARDS (1997-98), Robert Uplinger
Award (2008), Lion of the Year Club Awards (2001,2003, 2006,2018), Presidential Award for Exceptional and Devotional Service by
SOP/ECM Lions Club (1998), Distinguished Leadership Award by Past District Governor (2018), 100% Lion’s President Award, 10
Membership Key Awards, Outstanding president Awards (1994-2004), Outstanding Secretary Award (2005-2016), attended District, Multiple,
and International Leadership Conventions and a Graduate of Senior Leadership Training, Graduate of MD20 Leadership Institute 2019, First
Recipient of the Earl and Ruth Williams Service Award (July 2, 2017)established by PDG Jacqueline D. Williams daughter of Earl and Ruth
Williams
WHEREAS: LION ISMAEL A. HOLIPAS, JR. has demonstrated the capacity, integrity, and vision to lead the Lion District 20K-1 in this
millennium as he maintains his philosophy of “TO SERVE THE DISTRICT AND THE COMMUNITY SECOND TO NONE” expand and unite
now, and maintain the theme of “To Stay Connected, As We expand and Unite now,therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED: that copies of this RESOLUTION be transmitted to 20K-1 PDG Association, to all District 20K-1 Lions Club, PDG
ASSOCIATION AND 20K-1 Governor Anthony Cochran.
