Brooklyn Crown Heights Lions: A Joint Food Distribution

Food plays a vital role in building and sustaining
communities, and it is important that we encourage
healthy eating habits.

On February 1, 2024, Lion Senator Roxanne Persaud,
th
of the 19 Senatorial District hosted her first free
Food Distribution for 2024 at the Penn Wortman
Older Adult Center in Brooklyn and encouraged

community residents to participate.

Lions Gloria Antoine, Indiana Burrell, Juliet Henry
and Yolande Cadore volunteered to assist by packing
and distributing individual bags with fruits,
vegetables and healthy snacks for distribution.

The recipients walked away carrying heavy bags of
food and broad smiles on their faces. The Lions left
with such joy in their hearts because they completed
another act of humanitarian service.
