     “SOCKS DRIVE”: A SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP


    In early December 2023, the “Sock Drive” was initiated by Springfield Gardens Lions Club, with a steering committee
    of  Lion  Stephanie  Simeon,  Club  Marketing  Coordinator,  Lion  Randy  Lewis,  Chairperson  and  Lion  Iris  Allen,  Co-
    Chairperson.  The goal was to collect socks for the more than 100 children living in a family shelter in south-east
    Queens.  Solicitations  were  sent  to  the  Girl  Scout  Troops  of  the  Greater  New  York  Council  and  Lions  and  Leos  of
    Brooklyn and Queens.

     On February 21, 2024, a total of 1,722 pairs of children and youth socks  were delivered to the family
    shelter.  We are grateful for the support from Springfield Gardens Lions Club and fellow Lions       in
    Brooklyn  Midwood,  Brooklyn  New  Horizons,  Brookville,  Central  Brooklyn,  Hollis,  Laurelton,  Long
    Island City-Astoria,  Mid-Bedford Heights,, Queens Las Americas, Richmond Hill-South Ozone Park,
    South Ozone Park Empire City Medical and Girl Scout Troops #4156 and #4207.

    The  Springfield  Gardens  Lions  Club,  Inc.  appreciates  your  support      and  welcomes  future
