           A joint project with District
            20-K1 and District 20-R2.

COVID-19 has swept the globe and NYC was no
exception. Every man, woman, and child was af-
fected physically, financially, and socially. Thanks
to the partnership between the Lions of District 20-
R2 and District 20-K1 hope is not lost.

2 VDG Salome James (District 20-R2) invited 2
                                          nd
VDG Ingrid Andrews-Campbell, to participate in a
joint project on Friday November 20 at Borough
Hall, Brooklyn. The following Lions and clubs were
represented: Sunset Park Lions Club, Central Broo-
klyn Lions Club, Region Chair Hyacinth Jeffers
         (Brooklyn  Alpha),    Zone  Chair,  Levi  Jeffers;
(Brooklyn Alpha), Lion Lynda Canai (Brooklyn
         Rising Stars of East Flatbush),
Lion Carmen Fedrik (Brooklyn Jefferson) and Lions
Bill Crumpe and Shirley Maddox (Brooklyn Bedford
         Stuyvesant)

COVID-19 revealed critical weaknesses in how we
care for each other. More than food banks are
needed to feed the hungry during the pandemic.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, partnered
with Hon. Eric Adams, Bklyn Boro President
UA3 Pantry, Wegman, USDA and other farms to thanks volunteers
provide the much-needed food for Brooklynites.

Many New Yorkers struggled with hunger and food
insecurity before this crisis. Before our first COVID-
19 case, 1.4 million New Yorkers relied on food
pantries and soup kitchens, and 1.2 million were
food-insecure, including 1 in 5 children. As the
economic impact continues to spread, we know that
         these numbers are rising
every day. Lions continue to support the various
food drives, as “We Serve with Kindness, Humility
         and Love”.
