Laurelton's Dinner
with a Difference
One of the “Signature Projects” for
Laurelton Lions Club, is a gala
Thanksgiving Dinner, prepared and
served by the Lions, to the residents at
Little Flower Group Homes in Queens.
Pursuant to the “social distancing”
guidelines, boxes were prepared for
“Sidewalk Delivery” to each of the
seven (7) locations. Each box con-
tained Thanksgiving decorations and
place settings, with healthy servings of
the traditional Thanksgiving dinner,
fruit juices and desserts. (see photos)
Although we did not get to see the
reaction of the clients, we are over-
joyed that “Where there’s a need,
there’s a Laurelton Lion”. Lion Presi-
dent Lenworth James salutes all partic-
ipating Lions with special appreciation
to our prospective Lion, Monique
Charleston who provided all the deli-
cious desserts. We thank Ridgewood
Savings Bank for their partnership and
support of this event, and VFW Post
5298 for the use of their facility for
collecting and repackaging the food.
