CLOSING REMARKS BY DG ANTONIO ROBLES
District Governor Antonio thanked all attendees for supporting the Humanitarian Award
Celebration. “It is remarkable that we are celebrating the Lions of District 20-K1 on the exact
birthday of our founder, Melvin Jones”., he remarked. “Our founder had a unique vision about
serving the needs of the under-privileged in the community. He changed the world to the tune of
1.4 million Lions today, which alleviate hunger among seniors and the homeless, protect the
environment and its natural resources, serve pediatrics, cancer, diabetes, visually challenged
patients, youth, and wherever else there is a need for humanitarian services,” he added.
District Governor Antonio concluded by reassuring the Lions that each act of kind service changes
the world, making it a better place for someone else. Each act of humanitarian service puts a
smile of gratitude and hope on another’s face.
This is the reason for our celebration and encouragement of our Lion humanitarians.
