CARE KITS FOR WOMEN’S SHELTER

FROM SPANISH GAT

Under the leadership of Lion Haydee Llanos, GST Coordinator and her team, all the Spanish clubs collaborated on
Saturday, December 30 th, to assemble hygiene kits for distribution to religious and educational institutions.

Two hundred (200) care packages were delivered to a local women’s shelter. Volunteers included PDGs
Oswald and Melissa Torres, (Brooklyn Caribe), Leo Daniela Megan (Queens Las Americas) Lion Joe E. Santiago,
D20-K1 Board of Trustees, and non-Lion partners from St. Teresa Catholic Church.

The activity was highly rewarding because the women expressed their gratitude by giving us smiles or simply
saying “Thank you for thinking of us.” The task was very delightful for everyone as it validated our motto “We
Serve.”
Many thanks to the Global Service Team and Lion Norberto Saldana for providing the space. More significantly,
thanks to all clubs that took part in this initiative by brainstorming ideas and braving the cold weather with their
enthusiasm and passion to SERVE.
