Queens Centennial Lions Club
RESOLUTION
The President, Board of Directors, Officers, and Members of the Queens Centennial Lions Club at their October 13, 2022 meeting unanimously voted, approved
and are thrilled to endorse Leo Lion Pablo Romano as a candidate for the office of Second Vice District Governor to serve the Lions, Leo Lions, and Leos of
District 20-K1 during the Lionistic year 2023-2024, and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano is a member in good standing of the Queens Centennial Lions Club in District 20- K1 and has demonstrated quality service,
leadership, and dedication to the cause of Lionism; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano was born in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina and currently resides in College Point in the Borough of Queens; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano joined our association on July 1, 2004 after chartering the Sunnyside Suramericano Leo Club in which he served as Charter
President and, upon completion of his first term, was elected by the Leos of District 20-K1 to the office of Leo District President for the terms 2005-2006 and
2007-2008; and was selected by the 2006-2007 Council of Governors as the recipient of the Lions Clubs International Leo of the Year Award for Multiple District
20; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano transitioned from Leo to Lion on October 1, 2008 after chartering the Queens Las Americas Lions Club in which he served
as Charter President from 2008 to 2011, Secretary and Second Vice President followed by serving as Zone Chairperson from 2011 to 2013, Regional Manager
during 2013-2014, and Region Chairperson during 2017-2018; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano is an Associate Member of the Long Island City-Astoria Lions Club in which he had the pleasure of serving as Leo Club
Advisor and mentoring various Past Presidents which helped the club reach its 100th anniversary, and has secured their support and endorsement; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano was appointed New Club Development Consultant for Constitutional Area 1by Lions Clubs International on July 1,2015,
serving several International Presidents with honor and distinction and chartering more than 60 new clubs since his appointment; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano was instrumental in chartering the Queens Centennial Lions Club on July 7, 2015 during the centennial celebration of our
association. He has served his home club as President from 2016 to 2020, First Vice President, LCIF Coordinator, Director, and currently serves as Membership
Chair and Club Administrator; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano was appointed by the Council of Governors as Multiple District Leo Chairperson November 14, 2017 to lead over 100 Leo
Clubs in New York State & Bermuda. He was instrumental in helping start the Leo Multiple District which now allows Leo Club members to have another level to
serve and grow their leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano co-founded the USA/Canada Leo Leadership Foundation on November 17, 2016 and has served as President since its
inception. The Leo Leadership Foundation is tasked annually with organizing the USA/Canada Leo Leadership Forum for the Leo Club Members of Constitutional
Areas 1 and 2 which has seen a growth in Leo participation every year; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano graduated from the Multiple District 20 Lions Leadership Institute in Binghamton, New York and was the first Lions Clubs
International ALLI Leo-Lion Scholarship recipient which allowed him to attend and graduate from the Advanced Lions Leadership Institute in Calgary, Canada
during 2021-2022; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano was awarded the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship, the Progressive Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award,
the Knights of the Blind Distinguished Service Award, three International President's Certificates of Appreciation and three International President's Medals for
his service to the association; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano has attended various International Conventions, Multiple District Conventions, District Conventions, Lions Day with the
United Nations (LDUN), and the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum, and has presented at the New England Lions Council Meeting, Multiple District 35 Lions
Convention and Multiple District 23 Lions Conference and Leo Conference; and
WHEREAS, Leo Lion Pablo Romano currently serves District 20-K1 as the first Leo Lion Cabinet Liaison.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Queens Centennial Lions Club endorses and fully supports Leo Lion Pablo Romano as a candidate for the Office
of Second Vice District Governor to serve District 20-K1 for the upcoming year2023-2024; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be transmitted to International President Brian E. Sheehan, Multiple District 20 Council Secretary-
Treasurer PCC Timothy Jachlewski, District 20-K1 Governor Ingrid Andrews Campbell, First Vice District Governor Antonio Robles, Second Vice District
Governor Romeo Hitlall, Past District Governors, Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Treasurer, Region and Zone Chairs, Club Presidents and Secretaries.
