TIE THE TEAL RIBBON
ON THE TREES
On September 15, 2022, District 20-K1 T.E.A.L Committee partnered
with the T.E.A.L Organization in the annual “Tying of Teal Ribbons”
around the trees along Fifth Avenue in Park Slope. They began at
th
17 Street and Fifth Avenue and concluded at Flatbush Extension
spreading awareness about ovarian cancer. The Lions proudly and
neatly tied the teal bows around the trees and distributed flyers to
businesses along the route and to the many women they
encountered. Lion Chairperson Helen Dluzewski (Right) with Lion Co-
Lion members from New Horizon, East New York, Crown Heights, Chair Pamela Taylor (Left)
Midwood, Rising Star, Central Brooklyn and Transition participated
in this joint venture. A total of 13 Lions were present and Lion
Helen Dluzewski, Chairperson of the District T.E.A.L Committee
sincerely thanks all who came out to support the cause and spread
information about ovarian cancer, the deadly female disease.
