Worlds 2022 Play-Ins:
PentaKills, Teemo and Garen Picks and more
WORLDS 2022 began last week on the 29 of
th
September with the Play-Ins. Usually I don’t
bother watching the Play-In matches because,
let’s be honest, usually they’re pretty boring. But
this year, top organizations/teams like Fnatic,
RNG, EG and Mad Lions are in the Play-In stages.
On the first day itself, was very eventful.
First blood, less than a minute in the game,
pentakills, Baron steals and unfortunately a lot
of waiting due to some players testing positive
to Covid. Even though there were a lot of delays,
the game between DRX and RNG did not disap-
point. It was jam packed with action.
J’s Thoughts
As a former support main, now only an ARAM gamer,
the picks in this Play-In was Pog. Some of my
favorite ARAM champions were picked throughout
the Play-Ins, Soraka, Maokai, Amumu and even
Teemo! Yes, Teemo was locked in by Isurus against
their match vs RNG. Like that wasn’t enough,
Garen was also locked in by StarScreen on
a match vs RNG, I bet Breathe of RNG was
having a time of his life in Worlds 2022. As I write this, I’m currently watching
Istanbul Wilcats vs Isurus, Unfortunately there’s no Garen vs Teemo top lane,
but that would have been a good way to end their Worlds run. These two teams are
currently fighting for their first win as they’re both 0/4 and are is eliminated from
Worlds There’s still two days of Play-In matches, today and tomorrow.
[UPDATE: Isurus won their first game vs Wildcats ends with 0/5]
DRX vs Mad Lions
During this game Mad Lions almost took a game from DRX, almost. They started off so
well, took all the objectives they can and they just needed to continue to do what they
were doing. Unfortunately for them, they were against DRX. (Yes, I’m an LCK/LPL Fan)
Deft and Zeka has just been playing so well in the Play-In matches and this game was
no exception.
It only took them one team fight, Zeka on Sylas with a Yuumi on him do so much
damage. That goes to show, no matter how ahead a team is, as long as you play it
clean, you can always have a chance to turn the game around. DRX finishes with 5 wins
0 losses, top of the group and is headed for the group stages.
All I’m saying is, Region dif.
