Interval International and
participating hotels have PROVIDED
SCHOLARSHIPS to Caribbean students
Aruban students Arantxa Alves and Christopher Geerman have received this scholarship
INTERVAL International a prominent provider Saturday, July 25 2015 - ARUBA TRAVELLER
of vacation services around the world along with
participating hotels have granted 8 Caribbean students
a scholarship, to encourage them to achieve an academic
degree in hospitality and tourism.
The scholarships are financed by Caribbean Hotel and
Tourism Association Education Foundation (CHTAEF)
an organization that has been encouraging professional
careers and promoting professionalism for almost 30
years.
“As an organization that has been supporting CHTAEF
for many years Interval is proud to be able to work
with hotel clients in the Caribbean region, to be able
to give deserving students a chance to achieve their
goals.” Jan Wyatt Vice President of Interval corporate
marketing said. “We hope these students will return to
their respective countries to offer excellent hospitality
services and ensure this industry’s future in the country.”
“The timeshare sector was the largest CHTAEF
contributor for the last decade and we are extremely
grateful for their continued commitment.” Richard S.
Khan President of the foundation mentioned.
Each and every winner of the 2015 Interval International
Scholarships is well deserving of this help.
The winners come from 5 different countries and will
go to 5 different school and will achieve an academic
degree in a variety of important areas. Two Arubans
were picked for this scholarship, they are: Arantxa
Alves who will be attending Berkeley College of New
York for Marketing and Christopher Geerman who
will be attending Florida International University for
Hospitality Management.
From Bahamas: Kenia Taylor who will be attending
Florida International University for Tourism
Management. From Haiti: Kareen Etienne who will
be attending Florida International University for
Hospitality Management. From Jamaica: Gason Powell
who will be attending Florida International University
for Hospitality Management and Jordon Richards
who will be attending Johnson & Wales Rhode Island
for Culinary Studies. From Puerto Rico: Patricia Diaz-
Centeno who will be attending Boston University for
Event Management and from St. Maarten: Caroline
Nolasco who will be attending University of St.Maarten
for Hospitality Management.
The scholarship is given based on previous academic
achievements, economic needs and previous job
or internship position in the Caribbean hospitality
industry.
