‘Season of Giving Event’
Marriott Hotels on Aruba Came
Together to Raise Funds for
Hurricane Impacted Communities
PALM BEACH, Aruba – December 2017: Inspired by Mar-
riott’s core values of Putting People First and Serving The
World, the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, The
Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club and
Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club came together to raise funds
for the communities recently impacted by the hurricanes,
by organizing a very special dinner and dance fundrais-
ing event called ‘Season of Giving Event’.
It has been an unprecedented few months in the North-
ern Caribbean due to recent hurricanes and the lives
and communities of many people in this region have
been severely impacted. The desire to help those in need
runs deep in the culture of Marriott and it is within this spirit
that the Marriott hotels on Aruba have partnered to raise
funds to support the hurricane victims in the region.
On Thursday, December 7th, 2017, the ‘Season of Giving
Event’ was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Aruba Mar-
riott Resort & Stellaris Casino. Simultaneously, a silent auc-
tion was held during the charity event. The proceeds of
both the event and the silent auction went to the Marriott
Disaster Relief Fund, which was established by Marriott In-
ternational in order to support the company’s efforts to
assist those families and communities struck by disaster.
A hundred percent of the funds raised during this event
will go directly to this organization and to the destinations
in the Caribbean that have been impacted by the Hur-
ricanes.
The four hotels are very touched and thankful for the
positive reaction received from the local community and
local businesses in support of this special initiative either
by purchasing tables for the event, donating food and
beverage and donating auction items for the silent auc-
tion. It is with their support that this event was made pos-
sible and together and estimated $50,000 was raised to
assist those who are entering the holiday season faced
with tremendous uncertainty and in need of assistance to
provide for themselves and their communities.q
