There are two ways to cite sources: by making quotation and paraphrasing.
The followings are the rules in writing the source.

Citation What to include
Quotation 1. Surname(s) of the author(s)

2. The year of publication
Paraphrase 1. Surname(s) of the author(s)

2. The year of publication
3. The page or paragraph numbers.

Example:
It is stated that … (Smith, 2010) OR Smith (2010) stated that …

Quotes

Include page or paragraph numbers for direct quotes, and for paraphrasing
where appropriate. Use 'p.' for a single page number (Example: p. 15) and 'pp.' for

multiple page numbers (Example: pp. 125-126) or ‘para.’ for paragraph number

(Example: para. 4).

Beins (2012) mentioned, "Each person builds on the ideas of others" (p.
100).

OR
"Each person builds on the ideas of others" (Beins, 2012, p. 100).

One or Two Authors
Every time you mention work with one or two authors, you cite all names and

the year.
