G. Present your summary and conclusion in front of the class. Ask
feedback from your friends.
5 Questions and Discussions
Very often, presenters are afraid of their audience to ask questions.
Remember that your audience is NOT your enemy. Even more, if you want
them to follow your objective, you should try to be friends with them and
help them.
If your objective is to for example convince them to buy your product, after
the presentation, they will consider doing so only if they have all their
questions answered.
1. Listen to the question carefully
When your audience starts asking question, you should focus and listen
very well. While listening and trying to understand the question, at the
same time, you are trying to seek the answer. So, right after the
questioner finishes the question, you can be ready to give the answer.
2. Ask for clarification or repetition
If you don’t understand the question or you are not sure, politely ask the
person to repeat or explain it. Here are some useful expressions you can
use:
Sorry, I’m not sure I have understood. Could you repeat the
question?
I’m afraid, I didn’t quite catch (the last part of) your question.
I’m afraid I didn’t quite understand your question
If I have understood you correctly, you meant ....? Is that right?
