3. Talking lengthily about hometown and current residence
Options:
✓ How – How will you describe your town or country?
✓ Why – Why do you describe your town/ country using the words?
✓ What – What place and food are popular there?
Example:
I am a native of Bandung, West Java. Bandung is a cool city with lots of tourism destinations
from nature to vibrant city spots. Bandung is also well-known for its local food like seblak
and mi kocok.
GETTING TO KNOW BETTER
How to do it:
1. Sit in a group of 3 or 4.
2. Take turn introducing yourself. You can talk about your name, age, origin, study or job, hobby, favorite
things, family, and other information that you can share during introduction. Refer to the expressions
that we can use while introducing ourselves.
3. One student has 1-2 minutes to talk lengthily about themselves.
4. Use the vocabulary we learn previously in ‘What’s the word for that’ section.
5. While introducing yourself, refer to ‘How to Speak at Length’ strategy. Offer details to information
that you deliver.
6. Take notes of the points you get when listening to your friends. Write interesting facts about your
friends here. One example is already given.
