4. Finally, evaluate the question by using the following list of guidelines:

                           a. Is the research question one that is of interest to the researcher and potentially

to others? Is it a new issue or problem that needs to be solved or is it attempting

to shed light on previously researched topic.
                           b. Is the research question researchable? Consider the available time frame and

the required resources. Is the methodology to conduct the research feasible?

                           c. Is the research question measurable and will the process produce data that can
                           be supported or contradicted?

                           d. Is the research question too broad or too narrow?

               Research Goals

Another component that you have to include in your research is the goals or also known as

objectives. It formulates what your research is going to achieve. The research goals or
research objectives are the specific accomplishments the researcher hopes to achieve in the

study. The readers are supposed to clearly understand what the research wants to answer by

               reading the research objectives.
In quantitative research, the research objectives may lead to the hypothesis.

Meanwhile, in qualitative research which is exploratory describing what it is rather than

testing an explanation or theory for what is, the objectives will provide an adequate guide to

               the research.

               IMPORTANT NOTES: HYPOTHESIS

In your research, a hypothesis is not always required. Hypothesis will be only used

when you conduct quantitative research applying the correlational and experimental studies

(those concerning with the cause of certain phenomenon or a relationship between two or
more variables under investigation). Exploratory and descriptive research do not require any

               hypothesis.
