Here are some short example conversations to practice offering help in English. Find a
partner to practice and take a role. Next, switch roles. Finally, make up your own
conversations.
Security : Hello. How can I help you, Ma'am?
Visitor : I’m looking for an ATM.
Security : You should go to the front gate of UMY. You will find ATMs on your left.
Visitor : Okay. Thank you.
Security : My pleasure, Ma’am.
Security : Good morning, Sir. May I help you?
Visitor : How do I get to the lift?
Security : I’d be happy to show you how to get there.
Visitor : Thank you. That would be great.
Visitor : Could you help me, please?
Security : Of course, Ma’am. What can I do for you?
Visitor : I don't understand what the taxi driver is trying to say. Could you translate it for
me?
Security : Sure. I'd be happy to help you.
Visitor : Thank you. I would really appreciate that.
