ACTIVITY 3:

CONSTRUCTING MIDDLE/BODY PARAGRAPHS

Body Paragraph 1 (B1)

Topic Sentence: A broad view of the advantages.

Idea 1: Give the first advantage.

Explain: Explain why it is an advantage: what are the benefits. Avoid circular arguments (It’s an

advantage because it’s good!).

Example: “… from your own knowledge and experience.”

So, what are some advantages to:

… the franchise retail store is allowed ...

Idea 1: It gives great way to expand without additional cost on expansion.

Idea 2: The franchisee will get knowledge how to run business for free.

Idea 3: Sometimes a franchisee may get exclusive rights to sell the franchisor’s products within an

area.

Getting good ideas to support your thesis is always the toughest part. Explaining them and giving

examples should be a bit easier.
