Nurse Inda : "Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ms. Jelita. I understand you’re
having some trouble breathing. I’ll give you oxygen through a nasal cannula to
help raise your oxygen levels and make it easier to breathe. I’m also going to
adjust your bed, raising it so you’ll be in a High-Fowler’s position. This position will
allow your lungs to expand more fully, making breathing more comfortable."
Ms. Jelita : "Waalaikumsalam. Okay, will the nasal cannula hurt?"
Nurse Indah : "No, not at all. It’s a soft device with two small prongs that rest gently inside your
nostrils. You might feel a bit of cool air, but it won’t cause any pain."
Ms. Jelita : "How much oxygen will I be getting?"
Nurse Indah : "I’ll start with a flow rate of 3 liters per minute (LPM). It’s a moderate amount of
oxygen to help improve your breathing. I’ll monitor your oxygen levels with a
pulse oximeter, which clips onto your finger, to make sure you’re improving."
I will raise the bed to Fowler’s position and ensure that you are comfortable. I’ll
keep monitoring your condition, and I’ll check your oxygen levels again soon. 1)

you’re sitting upright? This position helps by reducing pressure on your
diaphragm, giving your lungs more room to expand."
Ms. Jelita : " Yes, it’s a bit easier to breathe like this. What if my nose gets dry from the
oxygen?"
Nurse Indah : "That’s a good question. 2) _________________________________________

Ms. Jelita : "Alright. 3)______________________________________. Thanks for explaining
everything."
Nurse Indah : “I will now place the nasal cannula in your nostrils, securing the tubing behind his
ears. I will connect the tubing to the flowmeter and adjusts the oxygen to 3 LPM.
How are you feeling now, Mr. Smith?"
Ms. Jelita : "It’s getting a little easier to breathe."
Nurse Indah : "In summary, I’ve started your oxygen therapy through a nasal cannula set at 3
liters per minute to raise your oxygen levels. I’ve also adjusted your position to
High-Fowler’s to help your lungs expand more easily. Our goal is to increase your
SpO2 from 88% to above 94%. 4) ______________________________________.
it is already about 15-20 minutes to make sure everything is improving as
expected. Please let me know if you experience any discomfort, such as dizziness,
shortness of breath, or dryness in your nose, so I can assist you immediately.”
Ms. Jelita : "Thank you, Nurse. I appreciate your help."
