Nurse Zainab : “That’s good to hear that the pain isn't too severe. We’ll keep cleaning the wound
daily and changing the dressing to help it heal. I’ll also teach you how to care for it at
home. In the meantime, how’s your blood sugar control been lately?”
Mr. Anwar : “To be honest, I haven’t been very consistent with my blood sugar levels.”
Nurse Zainab : “That’s something we’ll need to work on, Mr. Anwar. Keeping your blood sugar in
check is important for healing. I’ll make sure you understand how to manage it better.
Have you followed the foot care instructions I gave you last time?”
Mr. Anwar : “Yes, but sometimes I forget to do everything, especially the part about choosing the
right shoes.”
Nurse Zainab : “That’s okay, we’ll make sure you have a written guide to help you remember. How
are you feeling emotionally? Is the healing process causing you any stress?”
Mr. Anwar : “Yes, I’ve been a little worried because it’s taking longer than I expected. I don’t want
it to get worse.”
Nurse Zainab : “I understand your concern, Mr. Anwar. Healing can take time, especially with
diabetes. But we’re here to support you. If you’d like, I can refer you to a diabetes
support group where you can connect with others who are going through the same
thing.”
Mr. Anwar : “That sounds helpful. I’d appreciate that.”
Nurse Zainab : “I’ll arrange that for you. In the meantime, keep up with the wound care and blood
sugar monitoring and let’s check in regularly to see how things are progressing. Please
let us know if there are some indications of skin irritation like redness or swollen.”
Mr. Anwar : “Thank you, Nurse. I feel a bit better knowing that I have a plan.”
Nurse Zainab : “You’re welcome, Mr. Anwar. We’ll get through this together. I’ll check in again soon.
Assalammu’alaikum.”

Excerpt A
Nurse Syifa : Definitely. I’m applying it now. The dressing has a gel layer that will keep the wound
moist and comfortable. I'll secure it with some adhesive tape to make sure it stays in
place. We'll change it every few days, depending on how it heals and how much fluid
it produces. I’ll monitor it closely and adjust as needed.
Mr. Lukman : Thank you so much. It feels better already.
Nurse Syifa : I’m glad to hear that, Mr. Lukman. Remember to keep an eye out for any increased
redness, swelling, or pain. If unusual signs happen, contact us immediately.
Mr. Lukman : I will. Thank you for your care.
Nurse Syifa : You are welcome, Sir. Assalammu’alaikum. …
