                      2. explain coupled reacon processes and describe  the  role  of ATP
                         in energy coupling and transfer.
            OXIDATION-REDUCTION REACTIONS

             An oxidaon-reducon or redox reacon is a type of chemical reacon that involves
            a  transfer  of  electrons  between  two  chemical  substances.  In  an  oxidaon-
            reducon reacon the oxidaon number of a molecule, atom, or ion changes by
            gaining or losing an electron. Redox reacons are common and vital to some of
            the basic funcons of life, including photosynthesis, respiraon, combuson, and
            corrosion or rusng.
             Oxidaon is the loss of electrons by a substance during a chemical reacon. The
            substance which accepts these electrons is called the oxidizing agent. Reducon
