                      Learning Objectives

               At the end of this lesson, you must be able to:

                      1. differenate aerobic from anaerobic respiraon;
                      2. explain the major features and sequence the chemical events
                         of cellular respiraon;
                      3. disnguish major features of glycolysis, Krebs cycle,
                         electrontransport system, and chemiosmosis;

                      4. describe reacons that produce and consume ATP; and
                      5. compute the number of ATPs gained in respiraon.
                   Respiraon is the process by which the chemical energy of "food"
            molecules is released and parally captured in the form of ATP. This process is
            carried out by all sorts of living creatures, in order to produce the energy
            required for carrying out various metabolic acvies like growth, repair, and
            locomoon.
