1. Definition of Narrative text Legend
Narrative is a text that tells a story. It can be imaginary
2. The purpose of the text
To entertain or amuse the readers
3. Kind of narrative text
Folktales, legend ,fables, myths, fairy tales
4. Narrative text consists of three parts:
Orientation
Presents the background on what, when, where the story and introduced
the characters involved.
Complication / problem / crisis
Sequence of events that lead the characters into a complication (where the crisis
arises)
It is usually in the middle of the story
Resolution
It is the end of the story. Sometimes the story ends happily or sadly.
5. The language feautures
Use of Past Tense
eg: lived, asked, came, felt, etc.
Use Adverbs of Time (kata keterangan waktu)
e.g : once, once upon a time, long time ago, etc.
· Pronoun
Adverbia penghubung waktu
eg : then, after that, soon, before, first, at last, finally, etc.
Adjectives (to describe the people, animal or things in the story)
eg : beautiful girl, kind man, handsome boy, long black hair, etc.
Use of Action Verbs (kata kerja yang berkenaan dengan kegiatan fisik)
eg: They went up the hill
Use of Mental Processes (kata kerja yang berkenaan dengan feeling atau
thinking)
eg : hated, like.
