18 Brazil announces equal pay for

men's and women's national

football teams

Brazil's football federation announced on Wednesday it will pay men and
women the same amount for representing the national team. The CBF has
equaled the prize money and allowances between men's and women's football.

It means Brazil's female players such as Marta, Formiga and Leticia Santos will
receive the same fees and allowances as global superstars such as Neymar,
Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino.

After successful completion of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League in
UAE, which is slated to commence September 19, another League will be coming
up in the month of November in Sri Lanka. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid
Afridi is set to be one of the signicant members of one of the franchises for the

forthcoming Lanka Premier League, which will hit from November 14-December
6.

Talented Indian cricketer KL Rahul reckons that MS Dhoni’s boots are too big
for anybody to step in. On August 15, Dhoni called it a day from Team India
after serving the nation for 16 years since 2004 when he made his debut

against Bangladesh in Chattogram. Rahul, who made his international debut
in 2014 in Dhoni’s farewell Test, isn’t much fussed about replacing Dhoni.
