breed developed in France. I had never heard of them going wild any-
where, so I questioned the rancher, wondering if he was pulling my leg.
A few months after my return to San Francisco, I received a couple of
pictures of wild ducks he had shot. There was no question. They were
            Rouen ducks!

Again, the contrast between rich and poor in Nicaragua struck
me forcibly. Near the gate to the El Volcan ranch there was a home for
the gatekeeper. The boards in the wall of the home were at least ¼ inch
apart. His little kids were playing outside in the dirt. They were naked.

At about this same time Owen Collett was called to be Bishop

years later. We gained great respect for Owen and his wife, Jean. Owen

each potato in aluminum foil. After baking, we carried boxes of potatoes

we would clean up. Owen and Jean, despite their wealth, always worked

had for them. After about 2 ½ years, the Colletts moved to Salt Lake but
we have remained friends ever since.
