Helen entered Beamsville High
School (BHS) in 1952 and she 23
would head 6 km east to the
school along John Street.
She was a good student and as
such was placed in the
“academic” stream (in Ontario at
the time there were three streams
– academic, commercial, and
technical – with the latter two only
going to grade 12) and graduated
from Grade 13 in 1957.
She was involved in many
activities. She was editor of the
yearbook ("Memorabilia 1957") in
her final year. Helen would be
upset to learn that BHS closed in
2020 - replaced by a consolidated
High School in Grimsby.
