Early Life and Constant Relocation
orn in 1939, my early years were marked by frequent moves, reflecting the mobility required during and after World
BWar II. From Ayton, briefly in Toronto, then wartime housing in Ajax with its muddy roads to Etobicoke, Kingston,
and East York, my family relocated often as my father pursued his career. Memorable moments include living in Kingston
with my maternal grandparents, who left a lasting legacy of resilience and family values. Later, in East York, I experienced
childhood quirks of the era, like a quarantine sign nailed to our door by the Toronto Health Department, after I developed
chicken pox.
